Outstanding Returner Award

This award celebrates women who have taken a break from their STEM careers and have successfully returned to the workforce, bringing with them renewed passion, skill, and dedication.

Whether it’s due to caring for children or other family members, pursuing further education, or other life events, we understand that taking time away from work can be challenging. That’s why we want to recognise those who have successfully navigated the return to STEM careers and are making outstanding contributions to their field.

This award recognises the resilience and achievements of these inspiring returners who are showing us that career breaks are not career-ending, but rather an opportunity to come back stronger than ever.

  • The applicant must have taken a break from their STEM career for a minimum of two years and returned to make a significant contribution to their field. Outline the contribution that was made. (250 words max) – 25 points
